When to report a nickname

• Hateful, harassing or discriminatory content.
• Sexually explicit, violent or otherwise obscene names — including bad words hidden with fancy letters, look-alike letters or number swaps.
• Impersonation of a real person, brand or official.
• Personal data, advertising, spam or links.
• Anything illegal or that infringes someone else’s rights.

Dislike or report?

Every nickname in the library has like and dislike buttons. A dislike records that you do not rate the name, which is enough for a name that is simply low quality. A dislike does not remove anything, so for a name that is offensive, illegal or personal, send a report as well.

How to report

Email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Report” and include:

1. The exact nickname (copy and paste it — do not retype it, because fancy letters are easy to confuse).
2. The page URL where you saw it.
3. A short reason why it should be removed, and the word it hides if the name is disguised.

What happens after you report

A member of the CoolNickname editorial team reads each report, opens the page and decodes the name to plain letters to see what it really says. Reports are handled in the order they arrive. We do not promise a fixed response time, but a report with the pasted name and the exact URL can be acted on straight away. If the name breaks the guidelines, we remove it from the library; if the same person keeps submitting similar names, we may block further submissions from them.

We do not reply to every report individually, and we never share who sent a report with the person who submitted the name.

Reports about copyright or your own name

If the problem is that a list or text copies your work, please use our DMCA page instead so we receive the details a copyright notice needs. If a nickname contains your real name or personal information, say so in the subject line and we will treat it first.
