Content Guidelines

Last updated: September 28, 2026

The CoolNickname Content Guidelines define which nicknames can appear in the community library on coolnickname.com: creative styled names are welcome, while vulgar, hateful, sexual or misleading names are removed. The CoolNickname editorial team applies these rules to every submission and last updated them on September 23, 2026.

What is welcome

  • Creative, stylish nicknames using fancy letters, symbols, kaomoji and emoji — for example ꧁༒☬ Shadow ☬༒꧂ or ♡ 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵𝔂 ♡.
  • Names in any script, including Urdu, Arabic and Hindi, as long as the meaning follows these rules.
  • Names suitable for a general gaming and social audience, such as clan tags, attitude names and cute profile names.

What is not allowed

  • Hate speech, slurs, harassment or content that targets a person or group.
  • Sexually explicit, violent or otherwise obscene content.
  • Promotion of gambling, drugs or self-harm.
  • Impersonation of real people, brands or officials, including fake “official”, “admin” or “Garena” tags.
  • Personal data, contact details, advertising, spam or links.
  • Anything illegal or that infringes someone else’s rights.

How we filter vulgar and offensive names

Fancy letters make it easy to hide a bad word, so we do not judge a name by how it looks. Before a submitted nickname is approved, a reviewer reads it as plain letters: small capitals, cursive and bold math letters, look-alike Greek or Cyrillic letters and number swaps (0 for o, 1 for i, 3 for e, 4 for a, 5 for s, @ for a, $ for s) are all folded back to normal text first. The plain version is then checked for banned words. A name that only reads as offensive after decoding is refused, even if it looks harmless at first glance.

We keep the filter narrow on purpose. Decorative symbols, frames, hearts and kaomoji are what makes a stylish name, so they are never removed just because they look unusual on one screen.

Moderation and ranking

Submissions wait in a review queue and appear only after approval. Once published, a name moves up the lists through community likes and copies. We may edit, hide or remove content that breaks these rules at any time, including names that were approved earlier.

Who owns the characters and the lists

The letters and symbols themselves come from the shared Unicode standard and belong to no one. The lists, groupings and page text are compiled by the CoolNickname editorial team; submitted names remain the work of the people who sent them. Copyright claims follow our DMCA process.
